Woo hoo! Sequitur Marketing has a new website. Check it out. Our new site is well-organized, easy to navigate, and delivers fresh info about marketing your professional services firm.

This is not the biggest news you’ll read today but it’s big, happy news for Sequitur Marketing. We like a project that is planned, executed, and complete.

EXCUSES
Our website update is a little overdue. Honestly, it is more than a little overdue. It’s so easy to back-burner some projects. Excuses that come to mind:
• Other things to spend time on
• Other things to spend budget on
• How to start, what to do?
• There are older/uglier/less productive websites out there

These explanations are lame and generally were not true for Sequitur Marketing. As the person in charge of Sequitur, I could plan for investing attention, time, and budget in a new website. I understood the tasks involved and I knew the people to call on for help.

That last item is really a stretch! That’s like blaming someone else for the situation I’ve created. I do not want to hide behind another’s bad website.

TAKE ACTION
Your website is not something that can stand still. The rest of the world will not wait. Website design and development standards evolve quickly. Online habits and expectations change. Your business needs and perspective mature. To make your website valuable maintain a fresh, accurate, functioning site.

Here’s just a few reasons to consider a facelift, tune up, or overhaul for your website.

Technology
• Update platform to the current version
• Change to a platform that has the features your business needs
• Improve mobile device user experience (please!)

Style
• Reformat page layout
• Refresh content for new products, team members, or client stories
• Replace dated photos and artwork

(Re)brand
• Improve your site to better communicate your brand
• Implement a rebrand – business name, product names, digital assets
• Communicate your recent merger/acquisition

It’s just time…..
Sometimes it’s hard to articulate a specific reason but there’s a rumbling in your brain calling for something new and improved. Pay attention to that rumbling and give your site a serious review. Get feedback from staff, clients, and a trusted web designer/developer. If your intuition or those little voices in your head are calling, chances are there’s a real need to address.

OUR PROJECT
The list above is not comprehensive but does cover Sequitur’s thought process. Our site was overdue for all kinds of upgrades and updates…..platform, content, style, and images. We weren’t tackling a big rebrand. We did want to address functional and aesthetic change.

Is the project complete? There’s a little behind-the-scenes fine tuning to do then we’ll say “complete.” But as noted a bit ago, a website should not stand still. The site should always be responding to your business environment. Ongoing tasks Sequitur Marketing will be looking into – SEO development, accessibility, new and refreshed content, client stories, video, improved analytic, and more. Stay tuned!
